It's important to identify children with hearing loss as early in life as possible, and the NHS Newborn Hearing
Screening Programme (NHSP) makes sure this happens for all newborn babies across the whole of England.

NHS Modernising Hearing Aid Services (MHAS)
The MHAS programme is funded by the Department of Health and aims to modernise
hearing services within the NHS across England. MHAS is about improving
patient services, as well as making the latest hearing aid technology
available on the NHS.

Babies Early Amplification Research Study (BEARS)
The Babies Early Amplification Research Study (BEARS) aims to provide
the evidence base for relevance of early identification of children with
unilateral or mild-moderate bilateral permanent hearing impairment.

Epidemiological evidence for the effectiveness of the noise at work regulations
The aim of the investigation is to confirm that current regulations in
place designed to protect employees hearing in the workplace (the Noise
at Work Regulations) are effective in preventing the onset of noise induced
hearing loss. The study will assess whether any discernible benefit will
arise from tightening the controls already in place.
Evaluation of the School Entry Hearing Screen
The principal aim of this project is to assess the School Entry Hearing
Screen in the UK, specifically to determine how it is currently practiced
and to evaluate the effectiveness and cost effectiveness of alternative
tests used in the SES.
Workflow analysis to improve the hearing instrument service capacity in UK
The aim of the project is to identify opportunities to improve
capacity of hearing instrument provision and look at new solutions to
grow efficiency within the NHS audiology.
Are two Hearing aids better than one?
A pilot study to examine whether linked hearing aids can produce better
client outcomes than bilateral and unilateral aids.
